You’ll need to check your vehicle’s tow bar rating and whether the trailer is braked, as this can affect the maximum towing capacity. As a general guide, make sure the total weight of the trailer (with brakes) and machine is under 2500kg. For example, a 1.7-ton digger on a trailer comes in under this limit and can be safely towed by any vehicle with an appropriate tow bar.
